Cleo
Anyone will tell you that getting old isn‟t for the faint of heart, and if you are a cat it can be even worse. Cleo’s original person was taken to an out- of- state assisted living facility and she had to leave Cleo behind. She arranged with the people who were moving into her home to take care of Cleo, but the first thing they did was put her outside to fend for herself.
H.A.R.P.‘s most stalwart champion of the truly needy animal, Ray Zeeb, realized that she needed attention, stepped in, and took her home. He arranged for her to get a senior citizen physical and H.A.R.P. put her on our website; however, the odds that a 12 year old cat, even a healthy one, will find anyone who wants her are very slim. A miracle happened. Pat Evers, an 85-year-old senior, called our H.A.R.P. line asking if by any chance we had a senior citizen cat in need of a home. She was referred to Ray to discuss Cleo, and within a few days, she took Cleo home to see if they could work out a relationship. The rest is history: Cleo and Pat are best friends forever, and their relationship was made permanent when Pat officially adopted Cleo.
