Winning! BADRAP, Well Pet Vet Clinic and HARP Volunteers
Susan S. and Ray Z. befriended a woman who spent her days walking in Antioch with a brindle Pit Bull tied to a shopping cart. When BADRAP and Well Pet Vet Clinic, Pittsburg, offered a free Pit Bull Spay/Neuter clinic on October 15, Susan took Tiger Lily, the female Pit, to get spayed. Lily had a prolapsed uterus.
About 40-50% of the dogs at local shelters are Pit Bulls. Many do not survive. Go to www.badrap.org to learn more.
Susan recovered the dog at her home and learned how gentle she is. The homeless woman decided it was in Tiger Lily’s best interest to find a good permanent home, especially since she has a limp as a result of some unknown injury. Friends of Susan welcomed Tiger Lily, whose daughter, Suzie, has Down’s syndrome. Suzie received the dog as a 48th birth-day present. Tiger Lily is very happy in her new home and hates going outdoors. She loves popcorn and plays with Suzie’s long hair. Lily is finally playing with toys and barks only at the garbage truck. Lily loves her new family and they love her.
